Under-represented groups in the media

This was a project that was put forward to the Media students by the Clark’s Shoe Company in order to portray the under-represented  fairly in a commercial advert.

Within our advert, we chose to show a paraplegic sat around with a various pairs of shoes (so as not to be selective to a certain type) expressing happiness that he is with friends who care for him and are not discriminatory to his disability ..to give a sense of normalicy.

Photoshop was used as a means to remove the lower half of the leg from the picture, this was also a requirement to the project, in order to learn how to use the software.

I think that the poster is realistic and emits a sense of pride that isn’t found in everyday advertising, we used a sense of difference to make something that could be used in everyday normal advertising that people would accept.
